SOUTH HALL - Matfen - List Entry

    House. Early C18. Ashlar with stone slate roof. L-plan. Two and a half storeys, 7 bays. Rusticated quoins. Early C18 door with decorative lower panels, and Gibbs' surround with cornice, in 2nd bay. Similar surround to window in 6th bay to maintain symmetry. Narrow 8-pane sashes in raised moulded surrounds. Steeply-pitched gabled roof with corniced end stack on right and quadripartite corniced ridge stack. Left end stack has been removed. Flat coping and renewed kneelers....
