    ....Cast concrete sculpture of a soldier in uniform with rifle, standing at ease, mounted on a round base surmounting a cast rectangular pillar faced with a marble tablet which bears the incised inscription. This is a replacement tablet for the original, which was broken into three pieces, and is to be found in the small garden in front of the memorial. ....
