Woodbine Road Methodist Church, Gosforth

    A Primitive Methodist Society is thought to have existed in Gosforth by 1837, probably worshipping in members' homes until they took over the tenancy of the Bulman Village chapel (previously used by both the Wesleyan and Free Methodist congregations) around 1860. The Woodbine Road church, at the junction with Gosforth High Street, was built in 1882 as a memorial to Emma Robson, daughter of a colliery carter and trustee of the Society, who died age 35 in 1879.....
