Peddler at a Cottage Door, 1910s

  • Description

Peddler with a beard, bowler hat and walking stick stands by open door. The lady of the house is kneeling looking at the contents of the large box full of things for sale. A man is leaning at the door. The couple are thought to be Mr and Mrs Revell and the cottage has since been pulled down. Peddlers were required to carry all their goods, no carts were permitted.
