The new Transport Hub https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7698717 was opened on 2nd September 2023 with the Town Square https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7699421 following quickly thereafter. Subsequently, the Town Square was named, in a special ceremony on the 15th March 2024, as Thomas Brown Square in honour of World War 2 hero and local lad Thomas Brown, the George Medal recipient who retrieved vital Enigma code books from a sinking German U-boat. During the special ceremony this fitting sandstone memorial was unveiled." Photo by Geoff Holland, 2024.
