    "Built in 1852 as the County and Station Hotel, later at various times the County Hotel, the Cumbrian Hotel, the Station Hotel and the Lakes Court Hotel. The original building, designed by Anthony Salvin comprises the right hand section, the tower and intermediate link being added in 1866-8 by Cory and Ferguson of Carlisle. Listed Grade II.
