Former Oxford Street Methodist Church, Whitley Bay

    The former Oxford Street Methodist Church is situated on the corner of Oxford Street and North Parade in Whitley Bay. In 1899 an iron chapel was erected here. The present building was constructed in 1904 and could seat a congregation of up to 300 people. The church closed in c.2000. The building is now a Youth Resource Centre run by Depaul UK, a charity supporting young homeless people.
