In Memory of Five Little Girls

  • Description

"This cross stands in the corner of the churchyard of St Michael the Archangel, overlooking the Eden Valley in central Carlisle. It commemorates the five daughters of the church's Dean Tate. The girls died of scarlet fever within months of each other in 1865. Their names are recorded on the base of the cross." Photo by Mary and Angus Hogg, 2015.
