Steam on Ribblehead Viaduct

  • Description

"Preserved BR locomotive 45231 heading south across the Ribblehead Viaduct on its return leg of a spring steam special rail tour. As all traffic has to take the viaduct at low speed, there’s never any steam or smoke showing in the photographs. It was a beautiful day for this trip on the Carlisle-Settle line. For a closer look at the locomotive, see [[7511058]]" Photo by Mary and Angus Hogg, 2023.
