    "Built 1898-9, by Olver and Leeson, off the old Town Walls - see [[4506829]]. It's a handsome row of shops and offices in a free Baroque style of the time. The Newgate Street corner has a green copper onion dome and curved bay; the stone dressings include cornices, window heads, sills, full height bay windows, and scrolled pedimented dormers; the roof is green Westmoreland slates.
