Riddlehamhope Hall bastle (Hexhamshire and District)
-
Description
"The ruins of Riddlehamhope Hall used to stand at the head of the Beldon Burn. Before it went out of use it seems to have been a Victorian hunting lodge. ... It measured 11.9m long by 6.9m wide and was built of rough stone with walls over one metre thick.....These features point to it having been a bastle, probably built in the late 16th or early 17th centuries. The building was demolished in 2018...." -
