    "Former headmaster's house to Bywell School, dated 1832. Squared stone with tooled ashlar porch and dressings; Welsh slate roof. Tudor Gothic style. South elevation 2 storeys, 2 bays. Chamfered plinth. Projecting porch at left has vertical-panelled door in chamfered pointed arch with hollow-chamfered hoodmould; moulded string below moulded parapet stepped up over central plain recessed panel.....Rear elevation shows porch projection with renewed doors in 4-centred chamfered arch. Corbelled-out 1st floor with 2-light windows and Allendale arms in gable; ornamental bargeboards...."
