This was an adaptation of Ted Hughes' story, 'The Iron Man' (1968). The stage version premiered in London's Young Vic Theatre in 1993. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Iron_Man:_The_Musical_by_Pete_Townshend At the end of the stage musical, the puppet was initially moved to a barn at the Hughes' family home. It was brought to Newcastle Arts Centre for a Children's Book Exhibition and has remained there since. Hughes' novel was later adapted by Warner Bros. as a 1999 animated science fiction fantasy action film, 'The Iron Giant', which used both traditional and computer animation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Iron_Giant" Photo by Andrew Curtis, 2012. -
