    "Footbridge. Dated 1882 on original cast inscription `WILSON BROS. & CO. ENGINEERS 1882 DARLINGTON'; founder's plates STOCKTON MI Co'; some Ns reversed. Wrought-iron with cast-iron approach railings and wood deck. 2 iron trestles support beams of deck and top girder of lattice parapets joined by overhead lattice, with thin wrought-iron lamp holders at ends.....This bridge was constructed for the mill workers of the nearby mills, and it allowed access, on foot, from across the river to the heart of the mill complex...."
