"Hump-backed bridge. 1829 for Sir J. Swinburn. Single broad segmental arch. Plain parapet which splays out at each end of bridge. Oval panel on north side inscribed: ERECTED by Sir J.E. Swinburn Bt. of CAPHEATON under the direction of James Wilson of Greena AD 1829 Built as part of private toll road opened in 1828....."
