-
Description
"The distinctive cast iron seat ends were designed for stations on the Furness Railway https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furness_Railway . An example is kept at the National Railway Museum http://www.nrm.org.uk/ourcollection/runningtherailway/CollectionItem?objid=1986-7914&pageNo=157&cat=All&comp=All . The benches are still in use at some stations, eg Grange-Over-Sands [[241759]] . Others have found their way elsewhere [[986593]] ." Photo by Rose and Trev Clough, 2017. -
