"Observation tower built c1779 for Henry Alison so that he could watch the Hunt. Stands on massive drum plinth; coursed, rubble with some brick internally. Lacks floor and roof. Main building circular with 5 semicircular headed windows to 1st floor (some blocked); entrance to rear at junction with tall newel stair turret (resembling chimney) which has an external door at 1st floor level...." -
