Saint Francis Church

  • Description

"St Francis Church is a small church situated on Schneider Road, Barrow-in-Furness, with a distinctive spire topped with a weather vane in the form of a fish. The present building was consecrated 16 July 1955 to serve a new housing estate, replacing a former mission church. It serves the communities of Ormsgill, the Schneider Estate and the Cemetery Cottages and beyond to Parkside near the former church of St Matthew." Photo by David Dixon, 2020.
