"...A one and a half life-size depiction of Kirkpatrick with the donkey he used to carry people to safety in the Gallipoli campaign. Centrally located in the main shopping street, this stylized depiction of the soldier is boldly modelled out of brown painted fibreglass a sympathetic modern manner....Inscription on bronze plaque on pedestal: JOHN SIMPSON KIRKPATRICK/ "THE MAN WITH THE DONKEY"/ 202 Pte.
