    "Carved stone post by the A689, in parish of ALSTON MOOR (EDEN District), Nentsberry, 100m West of former chapel, on grass verge, on South side of road. Alston stone, erected by the Alston turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- TO ALSTON 3 MILES NENTHEAD 1½ MILES Milestone Society National ID: CU_ALNH03." Photo by M Faherty, 2012.
