Greystoke Pillar in field on south side B5288

    "The pillar is Grade II listed and is late C18 for the 11th Duke of Norfolk. Reeded pink sandstone ashlar. Square base and plinth incorporating an earlier carved coat-of-arms of the Howard family of Greystoke Castle. Tapering octagonal obelisk on top with a fillet. There is an Ordnance Survey benchmark [[6768632]] on the face of the pillar towards the camera" Photo by Roger Templeman, 2020.
