Whitehaven

Cumberland

  • Description

A postcard from my parent's landlady to my grandmother in January 1936. My father rented a room from the Tysons who lived in Lonsdale Street in the 1930's while he was at the secondary school teaching French. My parents were married at the Registry Office in Whitehaven and lived in the same digs till their move to Swindon in 1936. The school roof appears in this postcard.
