Marine Park First School - Whitley Bay

New screening erected now that building work has commenced on the old Marine Park/Coquet Park Schools site in Whitley Bay - McCarthy Stone are building retirement accommodation. The site had been a green space since the new school buildings opened in 2003. I remember when the 'new' Marine Park First School was being built - there was a round 'portal' in the screens around the building site. The school kids would occasionally be brought over the road to see progress, building up the excitement for the new school. That included my oldest daughter Amy; my oldest son Stuart started there in the year the new building opened. For many years I told them they had planted new teachers in the field, which was the site of the old school. I've always enjoyed telling tall stories :) -
