Stone Circle, High Head Sculpture Valley

  • Description

"An outlying feature of the High Head Sculpture Valley http://highheadsculpturevalley.co.uk/ is this Stone Circle, created by Brian Cowper in 2006. The stones have been carefully sited to incorporate some significant astronomical alignments. The circle occupies a commanding position on a hill above the valley with fine views in all directions - to the Lake District, the North Pennines, and the hills of southern Scotland. As the hilltop is shared with a young birch plantation, it is to be expected that eventually the circle will be hidden by the surrounding woodland." Photo by Oliver Dixon, 2010.
