    I just happened to look at this card and strangely I have a painting done in exactly the same period (as tree is same size!) and almost from the same angle by John Robert Cozens.
    It would be interesting to get a specific date on this postcard?
    Who painted / photographed it and who made the postcards?

    That's really interesting Nick - bet thats a great panting to have on your wall! I see Cozens was painting in the 18th century, but guessing the postcard is early 20th century. The best bet would be to contact Mark Crombie as his Flickr pages are the source of the image. See his profile at:
