Wray Castle Boathouse, Low Wray Bay

  • Description

"There are four boathouses on the Wray Castle estate. The largest is the castellated, gothic-style double boathouse at Low Wray Bay. The boathouse was designed to resemble a pair of mediæval gates , complete with turrets, arrow slits and buttresses to complement the castle. The boathouse, with its enclosed dock and attached slipway, is a Grade II listed building (English Heritage Building ID: 76759 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-76759-boathouse-with-attached-quays-and-enclose British Listed Buildings)."
