"Monument, dated 1884, to John Vaughan, by G.A. Lawson. Bronze figure and tablets; roughly dressed ironstone pedestal and plinth. Standing male figure with coat draped over left arm, on shallow pedestal and deep slightly-tapered plinth. Relief-sculptured tablet in each face of pedestal depicting: ironstone mine, ironworks, iron-rolling mill, and railway. Renewed tablet on north face of plinth inscribed...." -
