    Chronicle Live, 21st May 2016: "Dr Elizabeth Ashton, from Shiremoor, said the under-threat forge was 'central to the history and culture of the area'....Blacksmith Graeme Moran was devastated when he was ordered to leave New York Forge, run by his family for 42 years, by November....After we reported the forge, which stands close to the site of a proposed development of 3,000 new houses in North Tyneside, is set to be demolished, a petition to save it received more than 2,000 signatures on Change.org in just three days...."
