Hester Pit Memorial Garden

  • Description

"....In 2012 residents commemorated the 150th anniversary of the disaster by renovating the garden and commissioning artist Russ Coleman and writer Rob Walton to create a memorial pathway showing the names of all those who had lost their lives. They worked with schools and the local community to develop ideas and the pathway was opened on the 8th September, 2012."
