Silvas Capitalis

  • Description

"Silvas Capitalis or Forest Head is a very recent addition to the Kielder Arts and Architecture program. Create by SIMPARCH, a group of artists based near Chicago, it reminds us of the much more intimate relationship earlier inhabitants had with this remote, rugged landscape. Visitors can see through his eyes, or listen through his ears. The head also acts as a very welcome shelter along an otherwise inhospitable length of the shoreline of Kielder Water."
