-
Description
"For info about the fountain, see [[21789]] (photographed by Mick Garratt). The fountain was originally on a traffic island at the nearby road junction - see [[5161162]] (photographed by Jim Barton) but is now in a small pedestrianised area [[5475547]]. The fountain is Grade II listed https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1121579 . There is a fountain with a similar canopy at Nenthead - see [[1605270]] (photographd by Philip Barker); the water fountain itself is of the same type as found in the Allendale area http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=74897021 ."
