"A settlement is recorded at Acton from the 13th century. It was a member of the barony of Mitford and a number of medieval and later documents record the number of taxpayers there. For instance, in 1296 there were three people who paid tax. In 1590 the village was divided into two parts, called North and South Acton. However, by 1769 no village is shown on a map..." -
