Market Cross, Bedlington

  • Description

"This is the Grade II Listed Market Cross in Bedlington Market Place, photographed 22nd October 2016. The Swanns are one of the town’s oldest families, and Jim Swann’s early 18th century diaries suggest the Market Cross was built in 1782. Evidently it has the local nickname of The Nail."
