    "Egton with Newland, Mansriggs and Osmotherley parishes joined together to form a single Parish Council administrative unit in 2003. Together with South Lakeland District Council and Cumbria County Council it helps administer an area stretching from Spark Bridge on the River Crake southwards around Ulverston to Rosside. The Parish Council is represented by nine councillors; two represent Osmotherley (the ancient name for the area which stretches from Broughton Beck south to Rosside), one Mansriggs, and six in Egton with Newland....."
