    "Penrith is located just off Junction 40 of the M6 and has excellent cross country links with the east and west coast via the A66. Lying just north of the River Eamont and close to the Lake District National Park, our town was once the capital of Cumbria and is still the regional centre for trade, industry and services in the Eden Valley. The others are Cumbria County Council and Eden District Council. All three tiers have different responsibilities....."
