The Jubilee Institute, Rothbury
-
Description
"Also known as Jubilee Hall, it is a community centre with a number of rooms, halls and a community cinema, run as a charitable organisation http://www.northumberlandlife.org/jubilee-hall-rothbury/default.asp . The name refers back to Queen Victoria's golden jubilee (1887), an occasion which inspired the expansion and improvement of an existing institute. The building has changed a lot over the years, particularly after a fire in 1939 - for historical information see http://rothbury.co.uk/_viltrail/ and (from web archive) http://web.archive.org/web/20160409055513/http://robinofrothbury.co.uk/Jubilee%20Hall%20-%20History.htm ."
