Terrace of houses 1873 by Norman Shaw for Lord Armstrong, restored and rear walls reduced in height 1978 by Spence and Price of Newcastle. Rubble with rock-faced and margined dressings; red clay tile roofs with ornamental terracotta ridges; purple slates on rear outbuildings...."
