Gazette - 9 April 2012. "ONE of Middlesbrough’s oldest pubs has been severely damaged in a major blaze. The fire broke out at the derelict Middlehaven pub - formerly the Ship Inn - in St Hilda’s at 2am on Sunday. The pub in Stockton Street opened in 1831 and claimed to be the town’s oldest pub....."
