White Swan, Bondgate Within

  • Description

"This is a famous hotel in the centre of the town. One of its function rooms contains all the fittings and furnishings from the first class lounge of S.S. Olympic, retrieved from the ship breakers on Tyneside in 1936. There are lots of memorabilia on the walls, including period menus. The plaque can be seen here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1521785" Photo by Graham Horn, 2009.
