The Millennium Plaque at Loweswater Village Hall

  • Description

"This intriguing sculpture is situated just east of the Village Hall. Though not obvious in this picture, the upper surface shows a profile of the hills as seen from this perspective, from Whiteside on the left to Mellbreak on the right. St Bartholomew's church and the Kirkstile Inn are in the foreground. On the front face of the sculpture is a list of all the hills in the profile. Discreet Roman numerals on the profile link to the data in the list. Well worth a visit if you are in the area." Photo by David Purchase, 2011.
