Spoil tip near Stank House Farm

  • Description

"This photograph shows a view of some of the waste output from a previous mining era in this area. The conical shaped tip is a distinctive landmark for walkers exploring this part of the North York Moors. Viewers with really good eye-sight will notice the stationary hare (notice its long ears) in front of the hedge at the edge of the field near the tip. The picture was taken looking in a southerly direction towards Kilton Hill." Photo by Philip Barker, 2010.
