St. Andrew's Churchyard
-
Description
"The village of Kirkandrews-on-Eden gets its name from a church dedicated to St. Andrew, which fell into ruin some centuries ago. No obvious remains of the building survive, but the churchyard continued to be used for burials until at least the beginning of the 20th century http://www.stevebulman.f9.co.uk/cumbria/1901/kirkandrews_eden.html . A sign near the entrance says it is a "living churchyard" conservation area. St. Mary's Church at Beaumont http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2975855 now serves the combined parish of "Beaumont (with Kirkandrews on Eden and Grinsdale)"." Photo by Rose and Trev Clough, 2012. -
