View to the altar, Kirkandrews on Esk Church
-
Description
"The interior of this Georgian church was remodelled in 1893, by the architect Temple Moore http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_Moore . The nave was divided from the chancel by a rood screen (with columns); choir stalls and a reredos (screen behind the altar) were installed. The latter includes a replica of 'The Transfiguration' by Raphael. An organ was put in at the left hand side, balanced by matching dummy pipes on the right. (Information from a leaflet available in the church, also Images of England http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=78153 )." Photo by Rose and Trev Clough, 2013. -
