Sockburn

Tees Valley

  • Description

"Looking south along the road that runs along the spine of this narrow peninsula formed by the Tees. This is as far as one can get at the moment as signs on the gates ahead are of the 'private', 'strictly no admittance' and 'keep out' variety, despite the fact that the OS map shows this as a public road for another half mile towards the hall and farm. This is an interesting and historic area, and it appears that the Sockburn Hall estate may become more accessible to visitors in the future. Information available at www.sockburnhall.co.uk" Photo by Gordon Hatton, 2009.
