Jenny's Lantern
-
Description
"A prominent landscape feature, its form probably based on Crawley Tower; associated with local legend of a shepherd's wife displaying a lantern to guide her husband home over the fells after his evenings in an Eglingham hostelry; one evening however he fell into a bog and drowned."
