Swinburne Castle
-
Description
"The south elevation of the cluster of buildings at Swinburne Castle. The main house (coloured cream) is surprisingly recent, dating from 1998. It stands on the site of an older house which was demolished in 1960 because the owners could not sustain the cost of maintenance. See http://www.lostheritage.org.uk/houses/lh_northumberland_swinburnecastle_info_gallery.html To the right the single storey building is the 18th century orangery (Grade II listed)."
