  • Description

"It's just possible to see the upper part of the ruined tower. Pevsner says that it's 15th C, built of stones from the nearby Hadrian's Wall. The L-shaped house attached has a date stone of 1614 above the doorway. But all of the house is much older in its masonry and represents a 13th C or early 14th C house to which the tower was added."
