    "Country house. 1768 with later C18 and mid C19 additions and alterations. For Ralph Soulsby. Later work for Trevelyan family. Garden front ashlar, dressed stone elsewhere. Welsh slate roof. Irregular plan. 3 storeys. Entrance front 5 bays. 3-bay centre has doorcase with Ionic pilasters, pulvinated frieze and pediment, said to have been moved from present garden front. Flanking Venetian windows on ground floor. 1st floor has 12-paned sashes in raised surrounds. Similar windows on 2nd floor set in gabled ½-dormers with kneeler..."
