  • Description

Over in Coniston village, they still have an old fashioned locally owned Co-op. In fact there are several local Co-ops in the area, including the Penrith Co-op which owns several stores, and the Langdale Co-op in Chapel Stile which has one. I like these little Co-ops but I sometimes wonder if they'll survive, especially as the big supermarkets try and rush in to every locale. So I went in and bought a leek and three beers. Long may this Co-op be there for another hundred and five years.
