Brough Castle

Brough

  • Description

"A later addition to the castle which was once lived in by Lady Anne Clifford, Countess of Pembroke. Hers was a time when comfort was more important than defence hence the large, open windows as opposed to the arrow slits of the mediaeval keep at the opposite end of the castle."
